Bone Density Scans at Active Medical

MeasureUp will be on site at Active Medical on Thursday the 11th of October and Friday the 12 of October 2018. MeasureUp will work together with your doctor to focus on prevention and treatment of Osteoporosis. A bone density scan can determine if you have Osteoporosis or are at risk of developing it.

What is Osteoporosis?

Osteoporosis Australia states “Osteoporosis is a common disease affecting over 1 million Australians. This disease makes bones become brittle leading to a higher risk of breaks than in normal bones. Osteoporosis occurs when bones lose minerals, such as calcium, more quickly than the body can replace them, causing a loss of bone thickness (bone density or mass).”

How can a Bone Density Scan assist?

MeasureUp is a mobile van that offers BULK BILLED bone density scans to eligible patients with a referral. Their van is a comfortable State-of-the-art unit equipped with a DEXA densitometer, operated by specially trained and certified staff.

A bone density scan will help to diagnose or identify your risk of developing Osteoporosis and in turn help to minimise and prevent fractures and breakages of bones.

MeasureUp will provide an accurate, reliable and precise bone mineral density measurement service without the need to travel to a major hospital to have your bone density measured. A complete report and assessment will be returned to your doctor promptly – all whilst being parked on site at our clinic in Caroline Springs.

MeasureUp and Caroline Springs Doctors are dedicated to promoting lifelong bone health through public awareness, education and knowledge of osteoporosis.

If you think you could benefit from a BONE DENSITY SCAN make an appointment to speak to one of doctors, who can arrange a referral. BOOK ONLINE or phone our friendly team to make a booking 9363 0954.
