With the exception of Telehealth, which is billed privately. Caroline Springs doctors are committed to providing consistent and thorough healthcare for everyone in the community.

You can cancel or change your appointment without incurring any fees, as long as you give at least two hours notice. To cancel or change your appointment please phone 03 9363 0954.

Missed or cancelled appointments with less than two hours notice will incur a fee of $25. No part of this fee can be claimed back from Medicare.

Do General Practitioners bulk bill care plans and other health management items for patients with a chronic illness?

Patients with a chronic illness or complex health management requirements need to visit their doctor on a regular basis to maintain good health. As a way of helping patients who need frequent treatment, your doctor will bulk bill care plans, and care plan reviews directly to Medicare. There are also certain Health Checks and Mental Health Treatment Plans that are eligible for Bulk Billing. Please speak to your doctor or one of our friendly team if you require any of these services.

Do doctors consulting from Active Medical's facilty see Workcover or Traffic Accident patients?

Doctors welcome Workcover and TAC patients, however you will be responsible for any fees related to your claim until you have a claim number approved by Workcover or TAC. After payment you will be issued with a receipt that you can take to your employer for reimbursement. Once approved, Active Medical will follow up your claim directly with Workcover and TAC.

Are there any other fees?

Procedures, wound dressings and the use of medical consumables as part of your treatment will attract a fee.

In order to cover the cost of providing highly skilled staff, supplies and equipment for procedures to support your doctor, Active Medical has set out of pocket fees for procedures based on the length of time, complexity of the treatment and supplies and equipment required.

All fees will be discussed by the treating GP or one of our team members prior to commencing any procedures.

Travel consultations are eligible for bulk billing. The costs of travel vaccines are not covered by Medicare or the Australian Immunisation Schedule and will attract a fee. Please speak to your doctor, nurse or receptionist at Active Medical to find out about the fees for travel vaccines.

All Telehealth appointments are now billed privately. Medicare rebates are available for eligible patients.

Telehealth Fees:

Telehealth appointment $70

Please note that all patients will be charged an out of pocket fee for procedures regardless of concessional status. Please speak to your doctor or one of our friendly team if you are experiencing financial hardship.

How can I make payment?

Payment via cash, EFTPOS or credit and an immediate Medicare rebate is accessible through payment facility. Payment can also be made over the phone by credit card for invoices or non-attendance items. Speak to our team for more information.

Fees must be paid immediately and accounts not paid on the day will incur a $33 administration fee. No further appointments can be made while fees are outstanding. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please speak to one of our team at your earliest convenience.

Is there a charge if I need my doctor to sign a form?

Medicare considers some government forms to be eligible for completion during a consultation and can be bulk billed. In all other circumstances completing and signing forms will incur an additional fee, which won’t be eligible for a Medicare rebate. When making an appointment, please let our team know which form you want to complete with your doctor to allow enough time and for information about any fees.
