MyMedicare

What is MyMedicare?

Access to more care, extended appointments and Chronic Disease Management support from the providers you know and trust.

MyMedicare is a new voluntary patient registration initiative by the Federal Government aimed at strengthening the relationship between you, your doctor and health support services.

By registering for MyMedicare with your GP supported by Active Medical you will get access to:

  • greater continuity of care with your registered practice, helping to improve your health outcomes

How do I register for MyMedicare?

A Medicare or DVA Veteran card is required to register for MyMedicare.

There are options for you to register online and or in-person at Active Medical. You can complete registration in one of the following ways:

Our team will then enter your registration details into the MyMedicare system to complete your registration.

DVA Veteran Card Holders

If you hold both a DVA Veteran Card and a Medicare card, you can register using either. You can only have one registration, which will apply to any relevant Medicare and/or DVA-funded service, regardless of which card you use to register.

If you choose to register in MyMedicare with a DVA Veteran Card, you will need to complete a registration form at Active Medical.

Children under 14 years

A parent/guardian will need to register a child under 14 years and provide consent on their behalf.

Young people aged 14 to 17 years

Young people aged 14 to 17 years will be able to register and provide consent without a parent/guardian. It is important to note that registration for a child under 14 years will need to be completed at Active Medical.

We can navigate the journey together.
